The Standard Missile is not only used for theater ballistic missile defense, it is also used for air defense. Aeronca designed and initially tested the mid-body dorsal fins built for Raytheon Missile Systems SM-2 Block IV, SM-2 Block IVA, and SM3. Since the early 1990’s, Aeronca has been producing the dorsal fins and developing the process to further assure compliance with the stringent requirements of the Department of Defense, Navy, and Raytheon Missile systems.
