structures group is composed of experienced design and analysis engineers whose expertise includes all types of aircraft and missile structures, engine exhaust and nacelle components, and other lightweight structures. The group has a complete understanding of aircraft environments and the design conditions associated with those environments. They are very familiar with all types of aircraft materials including standard metals, exotic metals, and composites.
These materials are used in various jointing methods including brazing, bonding, welding and mechanical. They are also very knowledgeable of material specifications,
process specifications, and standards used in the aerospace industry.
Their attention to all details of structural design and analysis has produced many successes for Aeronca's structural engineers. These details include static strength, environmental conditions, performance requirements, fatigue, damage tolerance, vibration and flutter, cost, maintainability, reliability, weight, corrosion protection, and schedules.
Aeronca utilizes Dassault Systems CATIA CAD/CAM software for engineering design, tooling design, and N/C programming. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is also available. Engineering designs are analytically substantiated by finite element analysis using NASTRAN/PATRAN workstations.
Aeronca's engineers have the skills and experience to successfully accomplish the design and development of various aerospace structures and systems.
